The Busselton Foreshore redevelopment is a flagship urban renewal project which has been managed by the City of Busselton.
From the restoration of the iconic Busselton Jetty to the construction of a youth precinct, the popular coastal stretch has undergone a spectacular transformation over 10 years.
The result is a thriving destination that is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike with a visitor centre and exhibition space, along with a skate park, nautical-themed playground and walking promenades among the long list of features that have added to the appeal of the area.
Over the years the project has benefited from generous State and Federal funding and enormous community support. The redevelopment is already delivering important social, economic and cultural benefits for the City of Busselton and the South West region which is one of the State’s most popularly visited destinations.
The City has two short stay accommodation sites within the Busselton Foreshore Precinct.
The adopted Busselton Foreshore Structure Plan sets the following objective:
This precinct will provide for high quality development sites for tourist accommodation and supporting land uses, aiming to provide active frontage to the east-west spine road, landscaped setting and retain wide view corridors between buildings. The predominant land use in this precinct will be short stay accommodation such as hotels and serviced apartments. Restaurants, shops and bars will be provided at ground level to address surrounding streets and the public realm.
The provision of quality accommodation in such a central and desirable location is considered to be a significant asset for tourism in the region and is necessary to build on the potential created by several years of significant public and private investment in the Busselton foreshore precinct.
The vacant sites are numbered 9 and 11 on the attached structure plan and are currently open for Expressions of Interest.
